About Carol Chernega

Carol Chernega worked in Jane Austen’s garden in Chawton, England as the first recipient of the International Visitor Program for the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA.) She also did projects for Chawton House Library and the Jane Austen Society of Great Britain.

Carol has been a speaker at JASNA’s national conference, and is a former president of the Pittsburgh region of JASNA. She lectures and writes on Austen, gardening, and England. She’s the English garden editor of BellaOnline.

Carol has continued her association with Chawton by importing garden-themed gifts directly from Jane Austen’s House Museum. She’s the exclusive U.S. distributor of these gifts, which are for sale on her web site: www.onegardenatatime.biz

Carol owns One Garden at a Time, a garden maintenance business near Pittsburgh, PA. She specializes in English gardens and pruning. She’s produced a DVD teaching homeowners how to prune, called Pruning Shrubs with Your Personal Gardener.
